Twitterati started trolling the actor for being anti-national and mocking the Indian army. Galwan refers to the border clash between the Indian and Chinese Army in June 2020.

After receiving backlash, Chadha issued a statement.

With all this uproar being created on social media, skincare brand, Mamaearth decided to tweet in favour of the actor as she is also its brand ambassador.

This did not sit well with netizens who started tweeting against the brand.

We are a proud Indian company that respects and stands by our armed forces. We do not subscribe to the views shared by any individual who thinks otherwise."
