Countdown begins to the Media Abby night on day one of the festival

Goafest 2014: Media Abby Jury-speak: Harish Shriyan, Omnicom Media Group

Campaign India caught up with Harish Shriyan, COO, Omnicom Media Group, and member of the Media Abby jury for 2014 at Goafest.

The Media and Publisher Abby winners are to be announced at a gala tonight (29 May).

On quality of entries...

Harish Shriyan (HS): I must say that the entries that made it to the shortlists were interesting. For that I must also thank the previous round of jurors (who selected the shortlists).  Some entries were really awesome and we had a tough time in deciding on the winning entries.

On creative agencies and integrated efforts winning at media competitions...

(HS): I don't see a trend here. Some creative agencies maybe winning at media competitions, but a 'media agency 'does always come in at the second stage to amplify the idea. They maybe integrating certain thoughts and ideas that help the brands, but I don’t think they can take on media agencies.

On greater collaboration between agency partners...

(HS): Media agencies have always collaborated with creative agencies. We speak with the client and take inputs from creative agencies to integrate. That is part of the process now and has always been there.
