Bimal Julka named the I&B secretary

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed Bimal Julka, special secretary and financial advisor, Ministry of External Affairs, as secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

Bimal Julka is an IAS Officer of the 1979 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre. He has served as additional secretary and director general currency in the department of economic affairs under the Ministry of Finance. Following which, he became the additional secretary and director general FA, Ministry of External Affairs.

Julka was earlier director finance, director civil aviation, secretary national council of educational research and training (NCERT), director commerce and industry and joint secretary in the Ministry of Defence. Before his deputation to the Centre, Julka had held the post of commissioner public relations, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
