Arif Ali exits Loop Mobile; looks to incubate 'game changers' in digital, mobile

Arif Ali, VP and head – corporate affairs, Loop Mobile, has parted ways with the company since July 2013.

He has embarked on an entrepreneurial venture in the space of incubating and taking  to market ideas 'which are potentially game changers' in the digital, mobile and telecom technology space, explained Ali, when asked about his next assignment.

Speaking about the new venture which is taking shape, he said, "India today is bursting with a new entrepreneurial energy amongst the young: digital has made a huge impact on the business landscape of opportunities. In addition, just a regular job is not quite what some of the youth are getting inspired by anymore. I am eagerly looking forward to working with the bright sparks to give wings to their many business ideas."

Ali Joined Loop Mobile (then BPL) in 1998, as head of brand and communications in Bangalore.

On the 15 year-stint, he said, "I have had the unique good fortune of lead managing the development of two telecom brands, one of which (BPL Mobile) was at a moment amongst the most trusted and formidable telecom as well as service brands in the country. It is with a sense of satisfaction that I look back on my tenure for having played  a role in a small measure, in building and nurturing an entirely new category which has had a transformative effect on our nation."

In previous assignments, Ali has worked with agencies including JWT, Lintas, Mudra, Ulka and Enterprise.
