Rediffusion Y&R bags four Hamdard brands, including Rooh Afza
Hamdard Laboratories, a Unani and Ayurvedic pharmaceutical company, has appointed Rediffusion Y&R to handle creative duties of four of its brands.

The mandate was won following a multi-agency pitch and the account will be handled by the agency's office in Delhi.

Mansoor Ali, chief marketing officer, Hamdard, said, “We've been through an intense evaluation process and have decided to award a significant part of the business to Rediffusion Y&R, on the strength of understanding our business, and having the right direction on concepts and strategy. Our criterion for shortlisting our agencies have been purely on the compelling passion and love displayed by the agencies for our brands. We at Hamdard have built the brand with a lot of love and were keen to have partners on board who felt equally strongly about our products. We have decided to partner with Rediffusion Y&R on Rooh Afza (and its extensions),Safi, Sualin and Joshina. ”

Dhunji Wadia, group president, Rediffusion Y&R, said, "It's an honour to be associated with Hamdard and the wonderful brands that they have assigned us. We look forward to creating great work together.”

Suman Varma, head of operations, Rediffusion Y&R North, added, “I have worked on Hamdard brands for many years. I am passionate about these brands and love the categories they operate in. Each of these brands are market leaders. I look forward to partnering new leaders - both at the agency end and the client end, to take the brands to newer heights.”

Hamdard Laboratories operates in the category of health and wellness, and was set up in 1906 in Delhi.
