Samsung pits Shahid Kapoor's J2 against Johnny in 'Hang test'

Watch the ad film conceptualised by Cheil Worldwide here

Samsung has rolled out a new film featuring Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his actor-writer-director father Pankaj Kapur, for its Galaxy J2 handset. The film has been conceptualised by Cheil Worldwide.

Like the previous films in the campaign, this one too features the phone-doubter Johnny. He asks Shahid about his phone, which he has heard does not hang. Kapur tells his son that Johnny claimed he could make his phone hang within a minute. Shahid accepts the challenge and hands over the phone to them. Kapur and Johnny try their best to get the phone to hang by opening multiple apps together, clicking selfies to post on Facebook and more. Shahid meanwhile looks at them nonchalantly, goes about eating his bowl of fruit watching TV. The duo continue with with their efforts, when Shahid returns and takes the phone saying their time was up. The phone is still working fine, and Shahid says, "Johnny boy hang hoga" (Johnny boy will hang). The 'Turbo Speed' technology, which the company claims keeps the phone's RAM free and prevents it from hanging, is introduced. The film ends with Shahid shooting Johnny on his phone, with the latter hanging upside down .

The film was published on social media channels on 16 July 2016.
