Weekend Fun: The Great Gatsby

This weekend, one might want to head to the cinemas to watch The Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrman, the man who made Moulin Rouge.

The film is an adaptation of the eponymous English novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1925.
It stars Hollywood actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton and our own Amitabh Bachchan.

The drama set in the ‘Roaring Twenties’ in United States is based on the life of a reclusive millionaire

Jay Gatsby as told by his friend Nick Carraway. The film also portrays the lifestyle and the excesses of the 20’s.

The film that kicked off the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2013, had a world premiere at New York as well.
