Product of the Year winners announced

The first Indian edition of the Product of the Year awards took place in Mumbai on 17 January.  Product of the Year is an independent survey on product innovation. The entry for the awards began in April last year. The entry was open for all FMCG products launched in India over the past 24 months. In an independent survey, AC Nielsen collated responses from the consumers through questionnaires across the country asking for their vote on the products selected by the POY jury.

The entry for the awards began in April last year. The entry was open for all FMCG products launched in India over the past 24 months. In an independent survey, AC Nielsen collated responses from the consumers through questionnaires across the country asking for their vote on the products selected by the POY jury.
The awards were announced in 26 categories. STAR was the media partner and its CEO Uday Shankar was one of the members of the jury.
In the adhesives category, Camlin Crafty Glue won the award. LG Artcool won in the Air conditioners category. While Pond’s Age Miracle scooped the award in the anti ageing category, Taj Mahal Vacuum Pack won in beverages.
Britannia Tiger Banana won in the biscuits category, Vaseline Nightly Renewal Light Body Lotion in body lotions and Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash in body wash.

ItzCash Card bagged the award in multi-purpose cash cards and Kotak Royale Signature Card in credit cards. Axe Dark Temptation Deodorant Bodyspray won in the deodorants category, Dove Gentle Exfoliating Facial Foam in face care and Fair & Lovely MultiVitamin Cream in fairness creams.
Bref Power Cleaner won in the household cleaners category, Good Knight Advanced Activ+ System in insect repellents and Nivea for Men Whitening Moisturiser in men’s grooming.
In the notebooks category, BILT Matrix Notebooks bagged the award. Nerolac Beauty Emulsion Beauty Flexi won in the paints category, BILT Matrix Paper in paper, Whirlpool Frost Free Refrigerator in popular refrigerators, LG Side By Side TV Dios in premium lifestyle refrigerators, Samsung 2 ON in premium mobile phones and Nokia E 71 in super mobile phones.
Pril Antibacterial Liquid won the POY award in the utensil cleaners category, Samsung Guru 130 Torch in value phones, Videocon Multie 6800  in washing machines and Nokia XpressMusic 5310 in youth phones.
For the next 12 months, manufacturers of the winning products can use the Product of the Year logo on their packaging, promotions and advertising. The awards will be telecasted on STAR One and STAR World on 15 February. For more details, visit: http://www.productoftheyear.in/
