Pick of the fortnight: JWT to send large-hearted young lions to Cannes

J. Walter Thompson duo donate trip to Cannes, get rewarded by agency for noble gesture

Pick of the fortnight: JWT to send large-hearted young lions to Cannes
J. Walter Thompson creatives Bodhisatwa Dasgupta (right) and Nitesh Sah, winners of the Young Abby at Goafest, showed that adland has its heart in the right place with a thinking mind to match.

They requested the awards governing council to donate the Rs 8 lakh it would spend on their promised Cannes trip, to an NGO working with victims of gender violence – the brief they cracked. Organisers agreed.

Just as we were beaming with pride for writing on this industry, the duo’s agency decided to step in.

Kudos to CEO Tarun Rai and CCO Senthil Kumar for rewarding the duo’s gesture with an equally special gesture – offering them a trip to the Cannes Lions 2016.

They will be there.
