Singapore-headquartered Mileage Communications Group, which bills itself as a full service communications and PR agency, has announced the opening of an office in Seoul on 14 May, through a JV with associate John Kim. Kim will be the managing director of the company.

The company will assist Korean companies in their marketing communications needs in Asia and also help companies enter the Korean market, said a company statement.

Yap Boh Tiong, chairman, Mileage Group, said, “Korea is Asia’s fourth largest economy and the business outlook is positive. We have clients pushing for work to be carried out in the Korean market and having an office in Seoul will be a boon for our clients.”

Tiong explained that Mileage had been using the services of Kim and his team in the past.
Kim added, “We are very proud to be part of the Mileage Communications Group in Korea. This is an opportune time when the center of the world economy is shifting to Asia. Mileage Korea will play an important role in contributing to the Asian economy by strengthening the mutually-beneficial relations between Korea and the other countries in Asia.”

Sunil Puri, MD, Mileage Communications (India), noted, “South Korea is currently the fifth largest source of investment in India.  With the opening of a Mileage office in Seoul, we are delighted to play a role as part of the Mileage Communications Group to create awareness and publicity for the Indian companies in Korea.  At the same time, we will also be able to extend our services to the Korean companies in India”.
