McCann Erickson bags Aircel business

McCann Erickson has won the Aircel business in a multi-agency pitch. The account will be handled out of the Delhi office, and the size of the business is estimated to be more than Rs 200 crores.

Confirming the development, Prasoon Joshi, executive chairman, McCann Worldgroup India, said, "The pitch was going on for the past 3-4 months. The business was awarded to McCann because Aircel liked the solutions provided to them, the reputation of the agency, the teamwork, everything." He added, "The Delhi office has done phenomenally well in the past few months winning the General Motors and ICI Dulux businesses as well."

According to Joshi, the mandate would be to partner in Aircel's brand building, as they are serious players in the market.

The incumbent agency on Aircel was Dentsu Communications.
