Marc Lourdes appointed director of CNN Digital Asia

Joins from Yahoo, where he was editor-in-chief

Marc Lourdes appointed director of CNN Digital Asia
CNN Digital has appointed Marc Lourdes as director for Asia. Lourdes is based in Hong Kong and will lead CNN Digital’s Asia team across editorial content and programming for CNN’s global audience.
 
He will work with CNN’s digital teams in London, Abu Dhabi, New York and Atlanta and as the digital leader in Asia-Pacific, informed an official statement.
 
Prior to this, Lourdes was editor-in-chief at Yahoo in Singapore. He has also worked with The Star and New Straits Times in Malaysia. 
 
Andrew Demaria, vice-president and managing editor, CNN Digital, International, said,  “With his combination of editorial excellence, regional experience and industry acumen, Marc is a perfect fit for CNN. His experience in co-developing news apps, growing social media traffic, and working with teams to drive new opportunities will help us realise our vision for the Asia-Pacific region.”
