FremantleMedia hires Saurindra Kumar Barua (Raj)

FremantleMedia has appointed Saurindra Kumar Barua (Raj) as managing director, FremantleMedia India. Raj (pictured) will be based out of Mumbai and will report to Patrick Schult, CEO, FremantleMedia Asia. Raj's new mandate includes building a new high calibre team. He will work closely with various divisions within the FremantleMedia group to leverage its relationships and its content to establish a production operation to service the Indian market.

FremantleMedia has appointed Saurindra Kumar Barua (Raj) as managing director, FremantleMedia India. Raj (pictured) will be based out of Mumbai and will report to Patrick Schult, CEO, FremantleMedia Asia.

Raj's new mandate includes building a new high calibre team. He will work closely with various divisions within the FremantleMedia group to leverage its relationships and its content to establish a production operation to service the Indian market.

Speaking about the appointment, Schult said, "We are delighted that Raj will be leading the team to launch FremantleMedia's on-ground production operations in the Indian market. India continues to be a popular destination for many of our international hit formats and with Raj's leadership we look forward to offering our clients a complete service from the introduction of these formats to the delivery of the finished product".

Before joining FremantleMedia India, Raj was working with Discovery Asia in Singapore, as its VP and regional chief finance officer.
