Four Publicis agencies to stay away from Abbys this year

Publicis Ambience, Publicis Capital, Publicis Modem and Red Lion have decided to stay away from the 2011 Abby Awards held during Goafest.

Four Publicis agencies to stay away from Abbys this year

Four Publicis Groupe agencies have announced that they will not be taking part in this year's Abby Awards to be held during Goafest. These agencies are Publicis Ambience, Publicis Capital, Publicis Modem and Red Lion. These agencies will not enter any work for the upcoming Abby awards to be held during the 2011 Goafest.

Making this announcement, Nakul Chopra (pictured) CEO Publicis South Asia said, “Over the past three years, we at Publicis have made significant investments to improve our creative quality. This investment has been borne out by our performance at Abby/Goafest – with Publicis coming in at the number three position in 2009 and 2010."

He added, "The issues and controversies of the 2010 awards have been widely reported and debated - they need not be belabored. Participating in these awards entails a significant investment of time and money – it involves our reputation. Naturally we participate with trust that the process will be transparent and fair. We hope that the measures planned by Ad Club and AAAI will ensure such issues do not repeat – but we would prefer to wait and see that this is indeed true. We have hence decided not to participate for 2011. Publicis will continue to participate in other regional and global awards.”
