Cannes Lions 2023: 43 shortlists for India

The organisers of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity have announced the second batch of shortlists for this year's awards.

 

India received a total of 43 shortlists across 17 categories. This adds to the two shortlists India has already received at the festival, taking its tally to 45.

 

Design Lions

 

Dentsu Creative India gets India's only shortlist in this category for Vedantu's 'The Everything Book' campaign. 

 

Digital Craft Lions 

 

No Indian entries were shortlisted in this category. 

 

Direct Lions 

 

India received two shortlists in this category. Leo Burnett bagged a shortlist for Oreo's #BringBack2011 campaign, and Talented received one for its ClearTrip's 'Or travel on ClearTrip' campaign. 

 

Entertainment Lions

 

India received five shortlists in this category. 

 

Leo Burnett bagged four shortlists for Airtel's '175 Replayed' campaign. 

 

FCB India bagged a shortlist for SOS Children's Villages' 'Chatpat' campaign, and FCB Interface received a shortlist for Navneet's 'Tr for Teacher' campaign, respectively. 

 

Entertainment Lions for Gaming

 

DDB Mudra Group is the only shortlist from India for Battleground Mobile India's 'Machine-Gun Mouth' campaign. 

 

Entertainment Lions for Music

 

No Indian entries were shortlisted in this category. 

 

Entertainment Lions for Sport 

 

Leo Burnett is the only agency from India to get shortlisted in this category. The agency has two shortlists for Airtel's '175 Replayed' campaign.

 

Film Craft Lions

 

India received two shortlists in this category. 

 

Studio Eeksaurus Mumbai and Ogilvy bagged a shortlist for JSW Steel's 'Always Around', and
Hungry Films bagged the other for Acko General Insurance's 'Ode to Mumbai' campaign. 

 

Health & Wellness Lions

 

No Indian entries were shortlisted in this category. 

 

Industry Craft Lions

 

India bagged five shortlists in this category. 

 

Three of these were bagged by FCB India for Stir's 'Untangling the Politics of Hair' campaign.

 

Two shortlists in this category went to Dentsu Creative for Vedantu's 'The Everything Book' campaign. 

 

Media Lions

 

India received a total of nine shortlists in this category. 

 

Four of the shortlists in this category were for Dentsu Creative India out of which three were bagged for Mortein's 'Suraksha Ka Teeka', and one was for Vedantu's 'The Everything Book' campaign. 

 

Two of the shortlists were for Mindshare for Dove's 'Thumbstopping Beauty Biases' and Kwality Walls 'Trixy Cinegame, Bringing Alive 3 Layers of Fun, respectively.

 

Talented bagged a shortlist for ClearTrip's 'Or travel on ClearTrip' campaign. BBDO received a shortlist for Ralco's #NoPressureDelivery campaign. Whereas, EssenceMediacom bagged a shortlist for Whisper's 'The Missing Chapter'. 

 

Outdoor Lions

 

The only shortlist for India in this category went to Dentsu Creative for Mortein's 'Suraksha Ka Teeka' campaign. 

 

Pharma Lions

 

No Indian entries were shortlisted in this category. 

 

PR Lions

 

India received four shortlists in this category. Two of the shortlists were for Leo Burnett, one each for Airtel's '175 Replayed' and Oreo's #BringBack2011 campaigns. 

 

Talented was shortlisted for Swiggy's 'Why Is This a Swiggy Ad?' and FCB Interface received a shortlist for Navneet's 'Tr for Teacher' campaign. 

 

Print & Publishing Lions

 

The only Indian shortlist for this category was for Talented for Swiggy's 'Why Is This a Swiggy Ad?' campaign. 

 

Radio & Audio Lions

 

Wondrlab India is the only Indian agency to be shortlisted in this category for Spotify's 'The Unheard Playlist' campaign.

 

Social & Influencer Lions

 

India received eight shortlists in this category. 

 

Three of the shortlists were for Talented for Swiggy's 'Why Is This a Swiggy Ad?' campaign. 

 

Leo Burnett bagged two shortlists for Oreo's #BringBack2011 and one for Burger King's 'The Great Celebrity Hack' campaign. 

 

DDB Mudra Group is shortlisted for MTV's 'BotHard', and Ogilvy received a shortlist for Fiama's 'Talking Memes' campaign respectively.
