Cannes Lions 2011: Nineteen Indian entries shortlisted for Press Lions; three for Radio Lions

Mudra Communications leads the tally for Press Lions, while McCann emerges the only Indian agency to be nominated for Radio Lions

Cannes Lions 2011: Nineteen Indian entries shortlisted for Press Lions; three for Radio Lions

Six Indian agencies with 19 entries have managed to earn a shortlist in the Press Lions category, while McCann emerged the only Indian agency to leave an impression on the Radio Lions jury at Cannes Lions 2011.

Among the shortlisted agencies for Press Lions, Mudra Communications managed to earn six nominations. Entries shortlisted include ‘Bus’ and ‘Mall’ under the Home Electronics & Audio-Visual sub-category for Olive Telecommunications, ‘Blueprint’ under the Banking, Investment & Insurance sub-category, ‘Torture Room’, ‘Bedroom’, ‘Locker Room’ for Stedfast under the Business Equipment & Services sub-category.

Grey Worldwide managed to earn shortlists under the sub-category of Household: Cleaning Products for its entries ‘Denim’, ‘Sweater’ and ‘Corduroy’ for Procter&Gamble’s Downy brand. McCann Worldgroup’s entries for Onida i21 Mobile titled ‘City’, ‘Forest’ and ‘Sea’ are also part of the shortlisted entries from India.

BBDO India’s work for White Collar Hippies Travel Company titled ‘Nuclear’, ‘Terrorism’ and ‘Sea Travel’ under the Travel, Transport & Tourism sub-category. Taproot India got a shortlist for their entry titled ‘Visual Classified’ for Times Classified under the ‘Commercial Public Services’ sub-category.

Ogilvy & Mather’s entries for Perfetti Van Melle’s Mentos Sour Marbles, titled ‘Guillotine’, ‘Snake’ and ‘Gun’ under the Illustration sub-category were also shortlisted for the Lions.

For the Radio Lions category, McCann Worldgroup’s entry for Radio Mirchi, ‘IRS Callers’ under the Publications & Media sub-category, and entries titled ‘Terminator’ and ‘A few good men’ under the sub-category Home Appliances, Furnishings, Electronics & Audio Visual sub-category made it to the shortlist.
