2009 saw Law & Kenneth bringing on board new people across creative and servicing. It hired Delna Patel as executive creative director followed by Neeraja Kale who joined as senior vice president on the ITC business. In Delhi, it hired Pinky Maikota and Vaibhav Kaul as brand services directors. The agency grew organically too - starting with its new design unit - Design Law & Kenneth, something that has been on the anvil for a while now. Digital Law & Kenneth  added Force India F1, Ozone Pharma, Spanco, Wotr and Adani Wilmar. Skoda calling for a pitch for Fabia’s new variant was probably a bit of a blow, given that the agency handles the Skoda business in India.
Law & Kenneth kept itself busy in 2009 by protecting its turf and ensuring that most of its business stayed in the building, no small task by any measure in a year as challenging as this.

How LAW & KENNETH rates itself: 7

We learnt to adapt ourselves to a new challenge each day and also to adjust to bigger surprises. We  were geared to handle the situation, as we anticipated this situation early enough, and have come out being leaner, effective and a better fighting unit. We won the Unitech account, and launched a brand called Unihomes for Unitech. Indian Terrain came on board too in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw us launching a campaign for the Skoda’s new Superb and the Laura.  We also won some business from Dabur for a soon-to-be launched men’s grooming range. S Kumars awarded us their brand World Player. The year end looks equally promising as we have bagged a multi-crore deal from GVK group on a prestigious project. Our digital division continued its accelerated growth by winning business like Force India F1 team site, Ozone pharmaceuticals and Spanco.  Digital Law & Kenneth also added solutions like online reputation management, social media marketing and a mobile engagement division to provide comprehensive digital brand building to its clients.
We launched Design Law & Kenneth and bagged a prestigious contract from Danone, amidst fierce competition. The Year 2009 can be described as a year where we took some bold decisions, won businesses, learnt a lot, and in all had great fun.
