Arc Worldwide’s Venke Sharma moves to Leo Burnett Indonesia

Leo Burnett Indonesia has announced the appointment of Venke Sharma as executive director, head of digital – technical advisor, for the agency. Previously, Sharma was leading Leo Burnett’s marketing services arm, Arc Worldwide in India. Leo Burnett India informed that Sharma’s replacement will be announced soon.

Commenting on the development, Thomas Sutton, country advisor, Leo Burnett Indonesia, said, “We have been steadily building our digital business, but 2012 is the year in which we will take our plans to the next level. The addition of Venke, a leading digital strategy expert in the region, is a reflection of our ambition to be a leading force in digital. Very importantly, we aren’t building a separate digital agency; we are building digital capability in Leo Burnett Indonesia.”

“Indonesia is rapidly emerging as a growth leader in Asia; globally, it is the third largest Facebook nation with almost all Facebook users accessing it from mobile. Marketers are looking forward to direction from agencies to tap this vast consumer presence on digital medium, our focus in Indonesia will be on developing break-through digital strategies for clients and building a best in class team to execute the same,” added Sharma.

Sharma has been with Arc Worldwide for the last five years, and has rolled out impactful campaigns for clients including P&G, Philip Morris, Blackberry, Tata Tea, Big TV, Piramal Healthcare, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Carrefour, Asia Pacific Breweries, Tax spanner amongst others. Before Arc Worldwide India, Sharma was the co-founder and country head of Tribal DDB India.
