Event on 27 and 28 November in Mumbai will focus on 'Market Beating Performance in Uncertain Times'

13th CII Marketing Summit: The speaker line up

The 13th CII Marketing Summit 2013 will be hosted in Mumbai on 27 and 28 November 2013 at the Vivanta by Taj - President. The theme for the summit is 'Market Beating Performance in Uncertain Times'.

Thomas Varghese, chairman, CII National Committe on Marketing 2013-14 and CEO, textile business, Aditya Birla Group, will commence proceedings with his welcome and keynote address. The theme address will be delivered by Vikash Daga, partner, McKinsey and Company.

The inaugural address will be given by R Gopalakrishnan, director, Tata Sons, which will be followed by chief guest, Adi Godrej, chairman, The Godrej Group's speech. Varghese will then make his concluding remarks before the first session commences.

The first session will feature Daga; Anisha Motwani, director and CMO, Max Life Insurance; Girish Shah, EVP - sales and marketing, Godrej Properties; Sandeep Kaul, chief executive, personal care products business unit, ITC; Samrath Bedi, executive director, Forest Essentials; and Vishal Bali, group CEO, Fortis Heathcare International. The topic for the session is 'Navigating the Slowdown- Best Practises in Marketing and Sales'.

The second session titled 'Big Data Strategies for Marketing' will feature the following speakers: Kartik Jain, EVP, head marketing and depository services, HDFC Bank; Nimal Manuel, partner, McKinsey & Company,Kuala Lumpur; Natwar Mall, SVP and head of fractal sciences, Fractal Analytics; Sam Balsara, chairman and MD, Madison World; Vikas Ahuja, CMO, Myntra.com; and Vinay Bhatia, customer care associate and SVP - marketing and loyalty, Shoppers Stop.

The last session on day one on 'The Game Changer- Upgrading Sales Capability' will feature Saurine Doshi, MD and country head, AT Kearney; Neeraj Kapoor, founder and CEO, Grow Brands; Satyaki Ghosh, director, consumer products division, L'Oreal India; Sarajit Jha, COO and interim in-charge MD, Tata Business Support Services; and GK Suresh, GM, food business, ITC.

Day two

Day two will begin with a session on the theme 'Getting the most from your investments in Marketing and Sales'. This will feature Sam Balsara, chairman and MD, Madison World; Chandramouli Venkatesan, regional chocolate category, head-Asia Pacific, Cadbury India; Devita Saraf, CEO, Vu Technologies; Nilanjan Mukherjee, head - marketing, ITC; Neelesh Garg, executive director, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company; Rishi Vasudev, SVP and COO - tailored clothing and sportswear division (Arrow, Gant, Izod), Arvind Lifestyle Brands; and Ramdoss Seetheraman, associate principal, McKinsey and Company.

The topic for the second session on day two will be 'Building Smart Social Media Strategies'. Featuring Harish Bijoor, brand expert and CEO, Harish Bijoor Consults; Paul McInerney, principal, McKinsey and Company, Tokyo; Rishi Dogra, head - digital marketing, PepsiCo India; Sanjeev Kapur, CMO and head of customer franchise management, Citi India; Sunil Kumar, president, Exchange4media Group; and Farida Kaliyadan, VP - brand development and consumer insights, Aditya Birla Group.

The two-day conference will wrap up with speakers elaborating on 'Degree Marketing - Brand Strategy for a Changing World'. The speakers include Shivnath Thukral, group president, corporate branding and strategic initiatives, Essar Group; CVL Srinivas, CEO, South Asia, GroupM; Gayatri Yadav, head of marketing and communications, Star Network; Ian St-Maurice, senior expert, McKinsey and Company, Singapore; Prakash Negungadi, group head, consumer insights and brand development, Aditya Birla Group; Shantanu Bhanja, VP - marketing, HT Media; and Sunil Kataria, COO, sales, marketing and SAARC, Godrej Consumer Products.
