Weekend Fun: Foodpanda rides Independence Day wave with #HumHainEk

Film underlines that while Indians and Pakistanis are divided by nationality, they are united by food

Foodpanda has joined the list of brands riding the Independence Day wave. But the brand has touched upon a different theme -- one that involves people in India and Pakistan, which celebrates the occasion a day earlier.

The film on the theme #HumHainEk is woven around cuisines that are popular in one country, but have their origins in the other. Interspersed are visuals of soldiers from both countries on the border. The sign off, as the soldiers exchange sweets on the special day, says, “Iss Swatantrata Diwas, Bhed Bhao Mitao… Bas Khaatey Jao, Khilatey Jao.

Here's wishing readers a Happy Independence Day.

Have a wonderful weekend.
