Microsoft commemorates 25 years in India, salutes 'can do' mindset

Watch the film conceptualised by Havas Worldwide here

Microsoft, to celebrate its 25th year in India, has rolled out a digital film conceptualised by Havas Worldwide.

The films features three main protagonists, all of whom use a Microsoft product. One of them is a school boy who uses his laptop to find answers in the space of technology and sports performance. The second is a homemaker who reads up online about teaching and interacting with less privileged children who do not have access to education. The third protagonist is a young woman,  parting ways with her lover over a video call application. The trio is shown forging ahead in their pursuits. The school boy presents his research findings to a  corporate executive, while the homemaker introduces children to technology and knowledge. The young girl takes to creating digital art and selling the prints on T-shirts online. The narration supplements the film, “We’re all 25. Because when you live like you’re 25, you can do anything.” The film ends with a super on the screen reading “What will you do today?” as the hashtag “#empowering” with a caption of ‘25 years of Microsoft in India’ appears.

Jyotsna Makkar, CMO lead, Microsoft India, said, “Microsoft has created a strong legacy over our 25 years in India, empowering people and organisations to achieve more. We’re 25 today, and we believe being 25 is a mindset, an attitude. Every person at Microsoft holds this belief and we see this reflected all around us as well – young people achieving incredible milestones, older people not giving up on their dreams. This film celebrates that attitude”.

Nima Namchu, chief creative officer, Havas Worldwide India, added, “It’s wonderful to be 25. That’s when you are least inhibited and the most ambitious. When optimism and the ability to fulfill your dreams go hand in hand. And the best part is, being 25 is a matter of choice, we can all be 25. So, as Microsoft turns 25 in India, the brand invites everyone to live like they are 25. Because when you’re 25, you can do anything.”
