Pick of the week: Now, NYC agency makes beer rings edible for marine life

Ogilvy & Mather India had created Ganesha idols on similar lines last year for NGO Sprouts

Pick of the week: Now, NYC agency makes beer rings edible for marine life
We came across this innovation by We Believers, a NYC agency, for Saltwater Brewery.

Six-pack beer rings made of plastic pollute the marine ecosystem and harm sea animals that consume them. So the brewery created them from byproducts of the beer brewing, like barley and wheat. So the fish and turtles can actually eat them.

We think it's a wonderful idea. We're also incredibly proud that something like this was done in India last year, during the Ganpati festival.

While the move towards eco-friendly Ganesh idols immersed in water bodies across the country has been ongoing, Ogilvy & Mather went a step further to create idols from materials that sea animals could consume. This was for NGO Sprouts.

Here's to more campaigns that do good.
