Masterfile Corporation, an independent stock photo agency and still photography specialist, has launched its Indian operations. Masterfile is a global visual content licensor, with a collection of rights managed and royalty-free stock images. It has its global headquarters in Toronto.
Masterfile has named Ramji Ravindran as its partner in India. Prior to this, Ravindran has worked for Getty Images, Jupiter Majors (which was eventually acquired by Getty Images), Ten Sports and Indian Express.
Tomas Speight (pictured), senior vice-president international, Masterfile said, “We see a lot of opportunities in India. We will try and get all the features to India including the online search engine which has about two million pictures. Within one year from now, we are also looking to create an electronic microsite of file showcase. We will develop as many specific qualities for India as needed.”
In the context of pricing, he added, “Our pricing policy will be according to the Indian market and the graphic needs.”
