Heads of 2009 Cannes Lions Outdoor, Radio jury announced

The heads of the 2009 Cannes Lions outdoor and radio jury have been announced. Akira Kagami, (pictured) Dentsu's executive officer and global executive creative director will lead the 2009 Cannes Lions Outdoor Jury. With a career at Dentsu spanning 30 years, Akira Kagami is currently focusing on strengthening Dentsu's creative network and client work in Asia.

The heads of the 2009 Cannes Lions outdoor and radio jury have been announced. Akira Kagami, (pictured) Dentsu's executive officer and global executive creative director will lead the 2009 Cannes Lions Outdoor Jury. With a career at Dentsu spanning 30 years, Akira Kagami is currently focusing on strengthening Dentsu's creative network and client work in Asia.

Akira Kagami "Outdoor isn't outdated. It is a category with lots of room for fresh thinking. I truly look forward to seeing many great ideas", says Kagami on being selected to head the jury.

Matthew Bull, chairman of Lowe Bull and worldwide creative director of Lowe will chair the Radio jury at the 56th International Advertising Festival.

After founding Lowe Bull in 1996 and becoming CEO of Lowe's flagship office in London in 2003, Matthew Bull returned to his native South Africa in 2006 to resume day-to-day control of his agency whilst still retaining his position as Lowe's worldwide creative director.

Matthew Bull"It's clearly an honour to be chosen as the Jury president - Radio is one of the oldest advertising mediums around but this year the jury and I will certainly be hoping it's one of the freshest", said Bull on his role as Radio Lions jury president.

Terry Savage, festival chairman, said on the development, "Akira Kagami does us great honour in being the first Japanese President ever appointed to head a Cannes Jury. His vast experience and leadership skills make him ideally suited for this important role. Likewise Matthew has proven himself on a global scale as an outstanding leader and award winning creative and will bring to the Radio jury his unique insights. We are indeed privileged to have Presidents of this stature for Outdoor and Radio."

The 56th International advertising festival will take place from 21 to 27 June 2009.
