Circulation of The Economist grows by 3.7% worldwide

Circulation of The Economist has grown 3.7% worldwide, according to a press release, reaching 1,473,939 in the last year as per the latest ABC figures (Jul-Dec 2010). This marks a 93% circulation rise over the last decade.

The six-month ABC figures released on Feb 18, 2011, also show that the circulation of the magazine in India has seen a year-on-year growth of 13.7% with a circulation of 27,794 copies - more than doubling in circulation over the past 5 years. This follows a 13% increase in the last period (Jan-June 2010).

Suprio Guha Thakurta, managing director, The Economist Group, India, said, “The fact that The Economist’s India circulation has doubled in the last 5 years is extremely satisfying. It has confirmed our belief that there is a growing number of Indians who want to understand the world better, and it gives us great satisfaction that they are choosing The Economist to quench this thirst.”
