Campaign India Agency Report Card: Publicis India

Type of agency Advertising
Company ownership Publicis Groupe
Key personnel Dipika Narayan, SVP, Nakul Chopra, CEO, Publicis South Asia, Hemant Misra, president and CEO
Accounts won Iffco Tokio
Accounts lost HP’s IPG

In terms of accounts, there has not been much action in Publicis India. It has been pretty balanced as the agency won the creative mandate for Iffco Tokio but  lost the HP’s IPG account. BBDO bagged HP’s IPG (printing group) business but Publicis retained the PSG (personal systems group) account.
The agency roped in Naresh Gupta as planning head and Emmanuel Upputuru as national creative director.
The agency bolstered the creative team with the appointment of creative directors like Lobsang Wangchen, Mohit Tomar and Ritu Sharda. Sandeep Mohan resigned from his post of senior VP and head Delhi to join Rediffusion.
Publicis’ visible work  this year includes the launch campaign for Maggi Cuppa Mania noodles and Aviva’s ‘Khul ke jiyo’ campaign featuring Sachin Tendulkar.
The bronze lion for HP’s Thin Cover campaign has certainly been a standout for the agency in terms of creative recognition.
As the agency itself says, this year has been a year of tem-building. The number of appointments at senior levels, especially in creative is a testament to the talent that the agency urgently needed. Next year should see the benefits of the new hires.
Campaign Score: 7

How PUBLICIS INDIA rates itself: 8
This year has been about team building. We’ve attracted some very talented people to come together as a formidable team.. Across Delhi and Mumbai the focus had been on consolidating across major clients and partnering them with teams that help value add to their brands and businesses. Our clients have shown very healthy growth through the year which has been a great sense of achievement for the teams. As always we have been selective in our pitches and have added to our portfolio of clients in a manner that allows talent time to value add. Iffco Tokio joined our list of esteemed clients this year. With a strong, talented team well settled in the agency we do look forward to a great year. Also, the Cannes Bronze this year that was an indication of what a great team can do in a short time and the shape of things  to come from the agency.
