British comic 'The Hunter' launches in India

Dare Comics, the label which was founded in 2007 by British writer Adam Hamdy, has announced the launch of its first title The Hunter in India. The series will be published and distributed by OM Publications throughout India from March.The Hunter is a contemporary superhero comic set against the backdrop of organised crime, and its story is now being developed into a major motion picture. The comic currently has an international readership of about 1,30,000 through its print and online distribution strategy.

Dare Comics, the label which was founded in 2007 by British writer Adam Hamdy, has announced the launch of its first title The Hunter in India. The series will be published and distributed by OM Publications throughout India from March.

The Hunter is a contemporary superhero comic set against the backdrop of organised crime, and its story is now being developed into a major motion picture. The comic currently has an international readership of about 1,30,000 through its print and online distribution strategy.

Commenting on The Hunter's launch in India, writer and creator Adam Hamdy said, "Working with OM Publications provides a great opportunity to see The Hunter introduced to a wider audience, and with huge growth expected in the Indian entertainment market in the coming years, it is definitely a place we want to be."

Published in English, The Hunter will be available monthly through bookshops and on newsstands throughout the sub-continent. The initial run will be a 13-issue series of 22 page comics.

OM Publications has secured the exclusive distribution rights of The Hunter in India. Ravi Shankar, CEO, OM Publications says, "The Hunter is a unique comic series with highly compelling characters and storylines that appeal to the global marketplace.  We are tremendously excited about the prospect of publishing and distributing The Hunter throughout India. The series has proven very successful in the European and American markets and we expect Indian fans will be as excited about this new superhero."

Scarlet Fire Entertainment has come on board to produce the movie adaptation of The Hunter. Hamdy will produce the movie adaption alongside Scarlet Fire, as well as write the feature screenplay.
