BPCL issues statement on Scarecrow winning mandate for retail initiative

Campaign India had reported yesterday that Scarecrow had won the mandate for BPCL's new retail initiative. Following the story, BPCL contacted us, contesting the news that the brand had awarded the business to Screcrow. We reproduce below the letter, clarifying their statement on the status of the new business.

Reference the article appearing in your publication about the appointment of Scarecrow Communications by BPCL.

This is to clarify that BPCL has empanelled only three advertising agencies viz. Lintas Lowe, Saatchi & Saatchi and Euro RSCG. These agencies provide the company with comprehensive support in the areas of Advertising and Communication. However in few instances, the company does utilize the services of agencies to manage specific events, launches, exhibitions, etc. Our Retail team in Delhi did utilize the services of this agency to design a few signages for point-of-sale communication in one specific case.

Trust this clarifies BPCL’s position on the subject.
