Publicis India has roped in Anirban Mozumdar (pictured) as senior vice president - planning for north and east. He steps in in place of Naresh Gupta and joins Publicis from DDB Mudra.

Speaking about the appointment, Hemant Misra, CEO, Publicis India said, "I have been looking forward to working with Anirban for some time. His intuitive understanding of people, culture and what is going on around us and his ability to translate that to communication opportunities is only second to the humility and maturity with which he interacts with clients and colleagues alike.”

Added Mozumdar, "Big ideas and contagious conversations about brands - that brought me to Publicis. I look forward to fructify my personal passion for large scale consumer engagement and participation based campaigns with Publicis that truly believes in contagious conversations and walks the talk in every conversation and interaction I have had with them. It’s a challenge I am looking forward to."

This addition to the senior team comes closely on the heels of Madan Mohan taking up the position of EVP for Publicis India in Mumbai. Mozumdar began his career in advertising in account management working on Tata-BP, Bajaj Auto and later on Tide, Whisper and Rejoice for P&G. He continued working on P&G in the capacity of regional brand director for their hair care and laundry brands.
