24 hours with... Shaily Mehrotra

Shaily Mehrotra, CEO, Fixderma Skincare, takes us through what a day in her life looks like

24 hours with... Shaily Mehrotra

Ever wondered what an ideal day in the life of someone from advertising/marketing/media is? We're here to spill the beans on it.

Every Tuesday, we'll have a person from the advertising/marketing/media industry profiled in this section.

Name: Shaily Mehrotra

Job: CEO, Fixderma Skincare

Personal mantra: Sustainability is the key to long-term success and growth

6:15am: I am an early riser. I wake up and would like to start my day by spending some time doing things I love. I drink my water, play with my beagle, and marbles and then I sit around my plants and enjoy some nature with my cup of tea.

7-8am: A healthy body is very important for a healthy mind. I love to kickstart my day with a minimum an hour of workout. I usually prefer yoga or pilates.

8:15-9am: Once I am back from my workout, I like to sit and have breakfast with my family and spend some time with them. Post this, I spend 15 mins to plan my day.

9:30am: Get ready and leave for work. On my way to work, I check the morning mails to figure out the urgencies, if any.

10am-1pm: Morning is the most hectic yet most productive time of the day. Once I reach office, I meet the head of my departments to know the everyday progress and whereabouts of each vertical. Sort of the urgencies, issues and alignments of the day. And start with my meetings.

1-1:30pm: It is very important to stick to your schedule to ensure your day is as per your plan. I take my lunch break sharp at 1pm most of the days and prefer to eat with my daughter, Anshita Mehrotra. As she also is an entrepreneur, we love to sit and discuss some industry insights and developments over lunch. Sharing knowledge is the fastest way to keep yourself updated.

1:30-5:30pm: During the second half of my day, I mostly find myself in a lot of meetings with external partners, be it vendors, agencies or even media houses. I also take a walk across every department bay of the office and check out the updates. I keep doing discussions with the managers and key stakeholders to keep myself aware of the issues and developments. It is very important to know the problems at ground level to ensure the smooth functioning of the entire system.

5:30pm: I head home. On my way home, I take the calls scheduled for evening hours. I also touch base with my manufacturing head during this time to ensure that everything is in order

6pm: I sit and unwind with my cup of tea.

6:30pm-7pm: This is the time when mostly I have round-up and weekly calls with my regional sales team.

7pm: This is my me time. I go for a nice relaxing walk with my beagle, marbles in my society.

8-10pm: For me, work-life balance is very important. Over dinner, I catch up with my family, spend time with them over a healthy meal and rejuvenate myself. Post that I either watch some series on OTT or read for some time.

10pm: Say my prayer of gratitude and go to sleep.
