24 hours with... Nikhil Narayanan

Nikhil Narayanan, creative head, Pine Labs, takes us through what a day in his life looks like

24 hours with... Nikhil Narayanan

Ever wondered what an ideal day in the life of someone from advertising/marketing/media is? We're here to spill the beans on it.

Every Tuesday, we'll have a person from the advertising/marketing/media industry profiled in this section.

Name: Nikhil Narayanan

Job: Creative head, Pine Labs

Professional mantra: Not every battle is worth the fight.

Personal mantra: Shit happens.

Disclaimer: The itinerary below is restricted to working days. Weekends and holidays are NSFW-material.

8.00am-ish (on a good day): Not a morning person, so the struggle to part with my bed begins. Linkedin, MS Teams and WhatsApp battle it out for the attention of my groggy eyes. By the time I am through, my eyes are wide open and I am ready to begin my day.

9.00am-ish: Cigarette to lips, brush to teeth, water to body, razor to head and food to mouth.

10.00am-ish: The auto-ride to work commences – juggles between phone, people-watching and social commentary in the head. On occasion, deep contemplation on the state of the world happens.

10:45am-ish: Face meets biometric scanner. Basic pleasantries. Calls. Work – advertising, so everything’s game. More calls.

1:00pm-ish: Hunt down a new eatery in the vicinity. Control the urge for a cold beverage as one walks past Bob’s Bar next door. Return with a full tummy and a grateful liver.

2pm-ish: More calls. Even more calls. A bit of method and a bit of madness.

5pm-ish: Get out or get stuck at Koramangala, Vivek Nagar, Victoria Layout, Trinity, Ulsoor, etc. The choices are aplenty.

6pm-ish: Home. Laptop sleeps. The phone is wide awake. MS Teams and other apps are at it again.

7:00-ish: Shut shop if one’s lucky. Weekday, thy name is capriciousness.

8.00pmish – 1.00am-ish: Depending on a number of variables, swings wildly between OTT platforms, social media, local bars or football. But chill, one shall try to.

1.30am-ish: Unaided sleep – one of the few benefits of turning 40.

8.00am-ish: You know the drill.
