Along with the wins of brands like Spice Mobiles and HTC, the agency announced the key appointments of Ashwin Dutt, CD – digital, Bharat Wadhwa, AVP – digital, Ramesh Kalyanarama, AVP – Chennai, Sangeeta Sood, GM – Mumbai, Dipika Bhasin, business director – Delhi, Anju Kurien, SVP – human resources, and Kevin Fernandes, associate commercial director. Kavitha Srinivasan, who was heading the Chennai operations of the agency moved to Mindshare in the second half of the year.

On the awards front, the agency bagged a Gold and Silver at the Media Abbys this year, a Bronze at Internationalist Media Awards and was shortlisted for a couple of case studies at Emvies 2011. While the jury felt that the agency continued to have a good run this year despite being just a three-year old agency, they felt that the agency did a tad better in 2010.

OMD India has achieved all key objectives it had set for itself for 2011.  It also achieved RECMA A+ in the Compitches report released in 2011, and have been at No 2 position month on month in the R3 new business league tables.  It has clocked a 65 percent growth in 2011 over 2010.The digital offering is well settled and growing from strength to strength. All the offices of OMD across geographies have multiple large anchor clients supported by many others. Both the top and second-line management have been stable. Addition of the HR function as a full-fledged team has greatly added to stability and capability within the agency.

OMD continues to draw top-notch talent to itself. In keeping with its philosophy of being a creative media agency, it has managed to draw multi-faceted talent this year, bringing fresh, new perspectives to our offering.
