KFC celebrates differences that make friendship special, launches 'Friendship Bucket'

KFC India has launched an ad film for the launch of its 'Friendship Bucket'. The film has been conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather.

Set in a KFC outlet, the film features two young men. One of them brings a Friendship Bucket to the table and joins the other. Seated, he checks his phone. His friend, using sign language, asks him why didn't he go with his other friends to watch a movie. The man signals back to ask if he has a problem with them being out together. The friend contends that he would enjoy more with his other friends, as he can't even talk. Referring to the chat the duo were engaged in, the man asks who has been chattering along for so long. His friend breaks into a smile, and they dig in to the bucket. A voice over says, 'Dost jitney alag hote hain, friendship utni hi kamal ki hoti hai!’ (Friendship is more special when there are different types of friends). The bucket, with four different types of chicken, is introduced as one for such friendships.

Lluis Ruiz Ribot, chief marketing officer, KFC India, said, “Friendship has always been one of the most important and deep relationships in the lives of the youth. At KFC, we want to inspire people to have a different take on it, by championing diversity in friendship. We believe that the more unlike your friends are from you, the richer the friendship is. That's why in the new campaign we feature stories about friends that are different, yet together. “

The TVC goes on air on 8 July 2016.
