BBC.com launches new travel website with Lonely Planet

BBC.com has launched its new travel site in collaboration with its sister company Lonely Planet. It also has partners in global territories including Spice Jet in South Asia and Middle East, Hilton in Asia Pacific and Europe, and Emirates in North America.  BBC.com/travel is the first in a series of factual and lifestyle sites, announced last month alongside BBC.com’s redesigned news site and new US edition. It will be led by editorial director David G Allan, who was formerly the editor of NYTimes.com's Travel & Style section.

Worldwide Media picks Mudra for Lonely Planet magazine

Mudra Communications has won the mandate for Worldwide Media’s Lonely Planet magazine. Mudra already handles titles from the Worldwide Media stable, including Filmfare, Femina and What to Wear. The company will be launching Lonely Planet magazine in India in Q1 2010.
