Music

LTJ Bukem

The God of Drum N Bass, LTJ Bukem's style pays homage to the Detroit based sound of early techno. He also incorporates earlier influences, particularly the mellow, melodic sonorities of 1970s era jazz fusion as exemplified by Lonnie Liston Smith and Roy Ayers. In 1995 he did an Essential Mix alongside MC Conrad. In 1997 he remixed the James Bond theme for David Arnold's concept album of James Bond music & 2001 saw a remix of Herbie Hancock. He DJs extensively around the world, often under the 'Progression Sessions' or 'Bukem in Session' banners, with other artists and house MCs Conrad and DRS.

Catch this on Friday at Bluefrog in Mumbai from 10:30 pm onwards.

Janux and V-Shall

Janux plays two styles of electronica: Full on Psytrance (twilight &  Morning) & Progressive: Strong Groovy bassy spacey sounds. Janux has played in NYC, Amsterdam, London, Nepal, and all over India. V-Shall is one of India's leading EDM Djs and the founder of Fire & Ice. Catch them play at Bluefrog on Saturday from 10:30 pm onwards at the Bluefrog.

Theatre

Hedda Gabler
 
Catch Sheeba Chadha playing the role of Hedda Gabler, aka the "female Hamlet" at the NCPA at Nariman Point on Saturday from 6:30 pm onwards. Tickets for this one are priced at Rs. 200.

The Fire Raisers
 
Biedermann, a businessman, is convinced that he can resist attacks by arsonists. One day he is visited by two men posing as hawkers. Gradually he finds himself becoming complicit in the destruction of his own home in this play by the Shoestring Players, directed by Phyllis Bose.

Catch this comedy on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 pm onwards in Bangalore at Ranga Shankara, 36/2, 8th Cross, 2nd Phase,
JP Nagar. Tickets are available from Rs. 150 onwards.
