Radio City 91.1FM’s Rana Barua, executive vice president and national head – programming and marketing has been named as a juror for the New York Festivals 2009 Radio Programming and Promotion Awards.

Leslie Rasimas, executive director, AME Awards, NYF Radio Programming and Promotion said, “As India emerges as an important country in the role of the media, it is an honour to have our first jury members from India for the 2009 Radio Programming and Promotion Awards. Rana joins the assembly of world renowned judges for the Radio Category - each of them, a specialist in their respective fields of Radio Communications. We welcome him to the Judge’s Hall of Fame and look forward to his expertise in recognizing some of the excellent work done by radio programs submitted from all over the world."

Barua said, “Indian creativity has been accepted worldwide across the realm of media, advertising and communications. With cross cultural boundaries making way for a glocal marketplace, more and more Indians are getting into the fray. While radio makes it mark in India, it will be particularly interesting to observe how brands worldwide are leveraging the medium to optimize on the power of aural suggestion.”

New York Festivals 2009 Radio Programming & Promotion Awards has categories including News Programs, News Inserts, Information/Documentary, Entertainment, Talk Programs, On-air Talent, Craft and Technique, Programming Format, Promotion Spots and IDs to Audio Podcast and Student.
