The seven-year project would include setting up of a domestic regional airport comprising of a planned city around it, at Durgapur, which is about 180 km from Kolkata, which will cater to the local industrial belt and development of logistics, supply chain management and IT hubs subsequently.

Abeer Chakravarty, executive vice president, Bates141 commented, “Bates’ reputation in advertising and B-to-B CRM is what swung the decision in our favour. Among the many real estate projects we have handled, this is truly a feather in the cap considering the scale and uniqueness. We are very excited and bullish about the major challenge in selling such a development in Bengal. It’s got all that it needs, to be lapped up but requires stimulating a paradigm shift in perception.”

Commenting on their association with Bates141, Subrata Paul, CEO, BAPL, said, “We look forward to an enduring and long-term relationship with them to take the Aerotropolis project to the next level. The international experience of Bates141, together with their pan-India presence would help position Durgapur Aerotropolis as the largest innovative urban infrastructure development in Eastern India.”
