Netflix makes the case against going out on New Year's eve, says 'Try this at home'

Watch the ad film conceptualised by The Glitch

Netflix has released a film ahead of New Year's eve, urging users to 'Try it at home'. The film has been conceptualised by The Glitch.

It features stand-up comedians Abish Mathew, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kannan Gill, Mallika Dua and Sorabh Pant. The group are out at a New Year bash. They have to put up with different things through the night. Someone digs into one of their shoes with a high heel, while one guy throws up after '25 shots and 15 pegs'. Two men want to dance a little too close with Dua. A voice over urges the public to 'tame their inner beast' and 'Don't go for a New Year's eve party' as it will prove expensive (literally), as the five of them stare at a long bill. The scene then shifts to a house. The five watch a show on Netflix together, clinking wine glasses and munching on pop corn. Their smiles return. The film ends with a message, 'Netflix, try this at home'.

The film was published online on 27 December 2016.
