WPP Interim Results 2012: Billings up by 1 pc at £21.7 billion

Revenue from APAC, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, up by 8.52 per cent in first half of 2012 corresponding to the same period last year

WPP Interim Results 2012: Billings up by 1 pc at £21.7 billion
WPP's unaudited financial results for the first half of the year, ending 30 June 2012, are out.
 
As per their income statement, overall billings have gone up by one per cent at £21.7 billion. The net new business billings won in the fist half of 2012 have been estimated at £2.475 billion, which is more than double the net new business won in the same period last year. 
 
Overall revenues have gone up by 5.5 per cent at £5.0 billion (approximately). Profit before tax has gone up by 7 per cent at £467 million. 
 
Revenue from APAC, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, are up by 8.52 per cent in the first half of 2012 corresponding to the same period last year. The region contributed to 29.1 per cent of the total revenue. 
 
Among the other regions, at 35.2 per cent, the highest contribution to the revenue came from North America. 23.9 per cent came from Western Continental Europe, and the United Kingdom contributed 12 per cent (approx).

Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive officer, WPP, said, "Data continues to reflect increased advertising and promotional spending - with the former tending to grow faster than the latter, which from our point of view is more positive - across most of the Group's major geographic and functional sectors."
