Transfer Gossip: Who’s going where in the Barclays Premier League

In between the gossip surrounding Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez’s transfers, Manchester United signed England and Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Young. Young’s move was confirmed on the club’s official website on Thursday, making him United’s second high profile English signing of this summer’s transfer. Read more about the move here.
 
Barcelona, Arsenal and Cesc Fabregas continue to bore football fans worldwide, with all three of them involved in talks for yet another week. Rumours continue to suggest that Fabregas wants out and wants a move to Barcelona, but Barcelona are adamant that the World Cup winning midfielder’s value has dropped during the course of the last season and are not willing to pay the price Arsenal want for their midfielder. A £27 million bid during the week was turned down by the Londoners, who have asked Barcelona to only bid once they have a serious offer in mind. Read more here.
 
Slightly low profile compared to the Fabregas saga, but Charlie Adam, Liverpool and Blakpool look to be going down the same route as the club’s cannot seem to arrive at a conclusion for this move. But, with Aston Villa and Manchester United expressing interest in the Scottish midfielder, a move for Adam could and should be made sooner rather than later by the Merseysiders. Read more here.
 
If Charlie Adam does arrive at Liverpool, Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles may prove to be surplus to requirements at Anfield. Juventus have been rumoured to have expressed interest in signing the midfielder, with possibilities of a deal surrounding cash + Felipo Melo in exchange. Read more here.
