Swayam looks to cure the 'bigger pandemic'
Kolkata-based NGO Swayam has released a print ad on the occasion of Human Rights Day, which is marked each year on 10 December.

The ad has been created by Shreyansh Innovations to address the bigger pandemic - human rights violations. It features two photographs, one of a girl wearing a face mask, and the other featuring a girl being gagged and her voice suppressed.

Anuradha Kapoor, managing trustee and founder, Swayam, said, "Swayam believes in and works towards a society free from violence and abuse for all,  and women in particular. The pandemic has intensified human rights violations against all marginalised groups including women.  We hope this campaign inspires people to come forward and raise their voice against domestic violence and sends out a strong message of support to survivors!"

A spokesperson from Shreyansh Innovations, added, “The pandemic has taken a toll on the whole world. But one of the most affected people have been the ones whose basic rights have been suppressed during this time. The visual disruption of a face mask alongside a face being gagged and covered by a pair of hands is a strong symbol to pronounce this fact clearly. Through #UnmaskTheWrong we want people to speak up for these victims and bring about a positive change in their lives.”

The campaign will also be released across digital.
