Students can get all expenses paid trip to Spikes Asia

In a new initiative, the Advertising Club Bombay, in association with The Times Group, is offering students of accredited institutes of media and advertising an opportunity to represent the country at Spikes Asia Advertising festival, to be held on the 19th to 21st September of this year, in Suntec, Singapore.

In a new initiative, the Advertising Club Bombay, in association with The Times Group, is offering students of accredited institutes of media and advertising an opportunity to represent the country at Spikes Asia Advertising festival, to be held on the 19th to 21st September of this year, in Suntec, Singapore.

Advertising schools can participate in this contest by sending in their ten best students. Two will be shortlisted from amongst them depending on their performance at the interview. The finalist shall be judged by the sponsors of the Spikes Academy Asia. The winners would win a sponsored seat to the Spikes Academy at the festival representing India .

Candidates have to furnish their resume along with xerox copies of their identity cards and the first and last two pages of their passport. Possession of a valid passport is an essential requirement. They can register at the Ad Club’s office address - 504, Radhe Vallabh Society, French Bridge Corner, Opera House, Mumbai – 400004 on or before Friday, 6th August, 2010 between 10am to 5pm. The registration fee is Rs 200, which also gets them an enrollment as an Ad Club Student Member.
 
The interview will be held on Tuesday, 10th August, 2010.  The venue and time will be informed on the day of the registration.

The eligibility criteria is: the student must be a pursuing an advertising, communication or marketing course with a view to be working in the advertising industry, he/she must understand and should be able to converse fluently in English, he/she must hold a valid passport of Indian nationality, he/she must be between 18-23 years of age (born on or after 19th September, 1987).

Similar to the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, Spikes Asia celebrates the region’s advertising talent. Apart from the awards in the Asia-Pacific region, it aims to build a learning platform by bringing the pioneers of advertising world together and exchanging ideas through various seminars and workshops. The festival includes The Spikes Academy, which offers a selected group of 15 students the opportunity to participate in the workshops and seminars at the festival, and get access to personalized sessions and tutorials from top industry figures.
