Motorola's Lloyd Mathias puts in his papers

Lloyd Mathias, senior director, sales and distribution, Motorola is leaving the company. Mathias has been with Motorola since 2005. It is not known where Mathias is headed. Lloyd Mathias, senior director, sales and distribution, Motorola is leaving the company. Mathias has been with Motorola since 2005. It is not known where Mathias is headed. He could not be reached for a comment at the time of writing this report. But sources close to the development confirmed the news.

During his time with the handset manufacturer, Mathias spearheaded several marketing and retail innovations around the MotoRAZR and MotoROKR brands and was largely instrumental in rejuvenating the brand by signing on brand ambassadors and rolling out exclusive Moto stores and launching a slew of new models. 

At the recent Effies awards in Mumbai, Motorola's MotoYUVA won the silver award in the consumer durables category. The Yuva brand has been created by the Motorola team in India along with Ogilvy, – the agency behind the campaign.

Mathias spent over 10 years in PepsiCo prior to joining Motorola and is also chairman of Mobile Asia.
