Malcolm Mistry quits India Today, Manoj Sharma steps in

Malcolm Mistry, publishing director, India Today Merged Entity (ITME) has quit the group, ending his 11 year long stint with the company.

In his current profile, Mistry was responsible for integrating the sales force activities for all the language editions of India Today, their business publications and Reader’s Digest.

Ashish Bagga, chief executive officer, India Today Group, said, “It is sad to see Malcolm leave. Working with him has been a great experience and I wish him the best in his future endevours.”

Following Mistry’s exit (30 March 2012), Manoj Sharma will fill in his place as group business head of ITME. Bagga shared, “Manoj has been working with the group for more than 17 years now and since he used to report to Malcolm, it is only logical for him to take over his place.”

Bagga added that the publishing headquarters for ITME will now move to New Delhi from Mumbai. He explained that the headquarters for India Today are in New Delhi and since Sharma is based in Delhi (unlike Mistry who is based in Mumbai), it only made sense to shift the publishing headquarters to the capital.

Sharma’s KRAs would be ensuring smooth integration across the group and creating opportunity for incremental revenue.
