Longhand 2.0, a longcopy competition for adlanders across the world, has announced its jury panel. The jury comprises of ad veterans like Neil French (ex Ogilvy), Indra Sinha (ex Collett Dickenson Pearce), Ed McCabe, along with Agnello Dias (Taproot India), Rahul Kansal (Bennett Coleman and Company Limited), Prasoon Joshi (McCann Worldgroup), David Shanks (Clear Brand Essence), Tony Brignull (Collett Dickenson Pearce), and Mohit Hira (JWT India).

Commenting on his plans for the second edition, Bodhisatwa Dasgupta, associate creative director, Grey Delhi and founder, Longhand 2.0, said, “I felt I was onto a good thing with Longhand. With more than 500 entries or so, I had obviously tapped a pulse somewhere. It would be a shame if I just let it go. And so, Longhand 2.0. Pretty much the same format, with the inclusion of client judges. And this time around, we're going international.”

Agnello Dias, chairman and co-founder, Taproot India and jury member for this year’s competition, said, "Longcopy is a craft that needs to be preserved. In our time, we tried to perfect ourselves at writing longcopy ads out of necessity because it was in the nature of our business. Today, it has dangerously become a hobby for youngsters. I think the idea is to stop making it a hobby. So, when I read about what Longhand 2012 had achieved in this regard, I decided to come on board for Longhand 2.0.”

The entries will open on 15 January 2013 and the last date to submit the entries will be 1 March. The call for entries' posters will be uploaded, by late December on adlanders' Facebook group - Put Headline Here.
This year, some of the jury members like David Shanks, have also written longcopy ads to call for sponsors for Longhand 2.0.
