AMO Communications made some news this year on the people front. In what was a sign of willingness to pitch for more new businesses than before, the agency hired Manish Arora from Saints & Warriors to head business planning for its Mumbai operations. This was after AMO promoted internal talent Bob D’ Silva to the post of national creative director. D’Silva was earlier creative director and the agency has made plans to expand in the south and north. Wins included a project for Incredible India! and Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board business. AMO also won a part of P&G’s Wella Hair Cosmetics business, following a multi-agency pitch and was also empanelled on the Indian Oil creative business.
However, one of the major lows of the year was the loss of the Nissan business. The account moved to TBWA after a global alignment.
Overall, big loss with Nissan and no significant wins.
