The Advertising Club Bombay has decided to go national, and has been rechristened 'The Advertising Club' at its AGM held on 26 September in Mumbai.

Commenting on the development, The Advertising Club president Shashi Sinha said, "The idea of going national has been floating around for around a year now, and at the AGM we have formalised it. Various Ad Club events like Abbys, EMVIEs and Effies are already national in nature since some part of the judging process went to Delhi last year; properties such as Media Review and Creative Review would be launched in Delhi soon. Going forward, we do intend to host some of the key events in Delhi too."

Work on including members from Delhi in The Ad Club has already begun.

The new managing committee (ManCom) was also announced post the AGM, with a key change being the exit of Sunil Lulla, chief executive officer, Times TV Network, from the committee.

Lodestar UM's Shashi Sinha continues as the president of the club for 2012-'13. Ajay Kakar, chief marketing officer, Aditya Birla Group – Financial Services is the vice president. Pratap Bose, chief executive officer, DDB Mudra Group has replaced Kakar as the secretary, and Sujoy Ghosh is the joint secretary. Ogilvy India’s Madhukar Sabnavis is the Treasurer.

Percept’s Ajay Chandwani and Airtel’s N Rajaram also continue to be a part of the ManCom. Five new members have been included in the ManCom including Google India’s Punitha Arumugam, Marico Consumer Products’ Sameer Sathpaty, JWT India’s Sanjeev Bharghava, Creativeland Asia’s Sajan Raj Kurup, and Times Global TV's Ajay Trigunayat.
