Goafest 2009: Look who's talking: Dan Wieden

“Just do it” has been inscribed in memories of zillions of people, thanks to Dan Wieden, one of the founders and chairman of Wieden+Kennedy, who created the legendary campaign for Nike.

And Dan Wieden has confirmed that he will speak at Goafest, completing the scintillating international line-up of Sir John Hegarty, Bob Scarpelli and Jean-Marie Dru.

V Sunil of Wieden+ Kennedy India said, "It's great that Dan Wieden's coming for the Goafest. He's not been to India after W+K started here, except on a holiday. This will be a good forum to meet and interact with him. We at W+K have been lucky to have worked with him. He's the kind of person who is encouraging, optimistic and sends out great vibes to everyone around him. It's brilliant that he has made time to join us at Goafest."

Colvyn Harris, CEO, JWT India and chairman of the Goafest 2009 said, "We're very gung-ho over the quality of speakers that are confirmed for the Goafest. The news of Dan Wieden joining us is really very good. We do have an impressive lineup of speakers and are very happy with the way things are going."

Wieden founded W+K in 1982 in Portland along with David Kennedy. Over the years, the agency has created some of the most innovative campaigns for brands like Nike, Honda, Pepe Jeans, Micrsoft, Coca-Cola and ESPN.

Wieden has been named America’s one of the most intriguing entrepreneurs by Inc. He has also received Oregon’s Professional of the Year and Oregon’s Entrepreneur of the Year. He also received distinction as one of the world’s 50 CyberElite by Time magazine, and one of 32 members of the One Club Creative Hall of Fame.
