Jagran elevates Apurva Purohit as group president
Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, which was acquired by Jagran Prakashan (JPL) recently (announced December 2014, completed June 2015), is joining the parent company as president – Jagran Group. 
 
Brands that she will be involved with now, include Midday, Inext, Jagran online and other print and non-print businesses besides Radio city. “In addition, overseeing certain functional areas of the core business of Dainik Jagran shall also be part of scope of her work,” informed an official statement. 
  
On the development, Purohit said, “The Jagran group today stands at the threshold of a historic leap as it expands its footprint to access audiences across various demographics, geographies and distribution technologies. I am very happy to be part of this momentous journey” 
  
Shailesh Gupta, director, JPL, said, “Apurva brings with her a wealth of experience in the media industry. She joins us at a time when the Jagran group readies itself to build further on its existing core businesses, and capitalise on the opportunities that lie ahead in a media environment that’s being supercharged with digital, data and technology.”
 
In a career spanning 25 years in media, Purohit has worked with BCCL, Zee Telefilms and Lodestar UM. She has spent the last 10 years with Radio City.
