Miles Young succeeds Lazarus as global Ogilvy CEO

Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific chief executive Miles Young (pictured) will replace Shelly Lazarus as global CEO of Ogilvy Group in January, when Lazarus steps down as CEO after 11 years running the WPP agency.

The 53 year-old Englishman will relocate to New York, and will be succeeded by Tim Isaac, the vice-chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific.

Paul Heath, currently regional president of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, fills a new role as chief executive of Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific.

WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell said in a statement: "Miles brings to the role of CEO a deep understanding, not only of European and Asian markets, but also of the role that new technologies - and integrated thinking - bring to our business."

Lazarus, who will remain as chairman of Ogilvy Group, added, "I love Miles Young. I have worked in partnership with him for years. He has a simple mandate... to do for Ogilvy Worldwide what he has managed to do so brilliantly for Ogilvy Asia.

Young's promotion comes after 13 years of running Ogilvy Asia, which - with the exception of Dentsu - is the region's largest advertising agency group.
